Im still Oem paint all roundOriginally posted by cslsuperfan View PostMatt was hanging out to be the 1 remaining oem paint King.
All bright and shiny now!!
Ironic that a stonechipped nose can have such a detrimental effect on value when a very small financial outlay puts £££££'s back on the car.

Plenty out there with original engines waiting to go pop.

Yes, most have original engines, whether they're 'waiting to go pop' is open to question imho.
Anyway, I'm not adding much to this discussion so I'll leave you gents to it
If anyone has a CSL for sale then please feel free to PM me.

I think he's referring to those areas painted in Titanium Silver, however if I remember correctly 'Shimmy' had his steering wheel repainted by colour matching the existing, no BMW paint code.Originally posted by Mark1Do you mean the trim such as steering wheel and dash trims or seat backs and rear console?
'NZ_M3' would probably know the BMW codes for the Titanium paint and the 'Plasti-Dip' type paint also.

Hi gents,Originally posted by VW Sportline View PostI'm not sure whether Cosworth50 has had the pleasure of ownership of a CSL or indeed the day in day out of running and maintaining one.
Just to be clear I really do hope the car sells and that the new owner is happy and that the seller gets what he wants for it. I'm a car fan and want everyone to enjoy their cars, especially on sunny days like today.
We all have our opinions, mine are often wrong and I'm not afraid to admit it. Someone may pay £50k for this car as it has had a new engine and, by the sounds of it, will look mint when restored.
Personally for me I would prefer one with lower miles and an original engine and one that had original paint BUT I may be in the minority. We are all different and that's what makes the world go round.
All the best with the sale

IIRC the new CF splitters come without any lacquer on them these days :banghead: so there will be more work required to get them to the OE finish.Originally posted by VW Sportline View PostHi thanks for the heads up, I have purchased brand new carbon splitters.
And the chap who's doing the work used to work for BMW.
If I were you I'd (as others have already said) get Mark CSL to refurbish your original one and get a refund for the ones you've just purchased.
Below are a couple of pix of one of my rare original MK1 flippers before & after refurbishment by Mark :smokin: Highly recommended

My thoughts exactly. Good move coming here, being known will help rather than being a random ebay car. I would also sell it just on CSLR, there's that few cars out there, anyone serious will know where to look.Originally posted by mattCSLnut View PostIMHO now that you've rightly decided to do this whole thing properly by investing that little bit extra time & £££ to make your CSL the excellent car it always deserved to be (and possibly once was) ... so long as all the remedial work you're now having done to it is of a very high standard, I'd consider this moment the equivalent of a re-set button.
Forget those less than perfect eBay adverts
don't waste any more of your time or money re advertising the CSL there. Re writte the PH Ad explaining clearly exactly what you're now doing and once the CSL is all sorted get some proper pix and advertise it on CSLR
