I’m pretty excited for how simple it’s going to be. I’m nixing shift modes (SMG), the power button (always full power), the edc button/module (on coilovers), and the active side bolstering (stupid feature). If I can just nix the sunroof and iDrive, it’ll be hard to find things to complain about.

    Indeed. And with a manual, it's "only" ~200 lbs off a sunroof/DCT/idrive e90 M3.

    … or, e93 M3 weight.

    Agreed.

Looking forward to the developments of this thread.

    Sigh.

Driveshaft is NLA. LUK flywheel is out of stock with no estimate of when it'll be back.

I chose the wrong pandemic to 6mt swap an e60 M5.

(custom driveshaft and OE BMW flywheel it is)

E9X M3 gearbox? Will you be doing a DIY thread?

Welcome to the club! My 07 has 85k miles on the clock when I bought it and I refused to drive it until I replaced the rod bearings. It’s fun to drive but doesn’t have the raw power feel that the E46 M3 has. I actually prefer it though for daily driving. I’m sure you’ve seen them already, but if not make sure you check out sretens YouTube series on the E60.

Does your ‘08 have the CCC or CIC radio? I’m in the process now of upgrading to CIC with the combox.

I think they have amazing presence in person. I don't like their design compared to e39/e46 esp in pictures, but that's like saying you like master of puppets more than the black album.
