AR1's are great, but they don't last as long as the NT01's. Very stiff tires in comparison.

Greases up after 5-6 laps pushing, but its manageable. Killed a new set in 1 weekend (just under 250 laps - 2 mile track)
Any comparison on the RT660 wear vs NT01? Every time time I try and get away form the Nitto's I come back since they seem to wear like iron. I'm strictly a HPDE driver so the more mileage I can get from a set of tires the happier I am.

I’ve heard 660’s are good but that seems nuts.

Whoa. First I heard of that. Is there an RE71R follow-on replacement?

    EDIT: Found it: RE-71RS

Which is not yet listed at TR, let alone in stock. And no RE71R sets in stock.

    Good planning Bridgestone!

EDIT II: RE71RS independent tests show the tire to perform less than the RE71R. Bridgestone informed and declines to make the RE71R available in the US again.

So either accept less performance or move to another brand.

    Vote with your wallet.

The Yoks were very grippy but they only lasted 30 autocross runs and four track days which is way faster than any of the previous tires have worn. I've heard the RT 660 runs wide, can you confirm? I ran 275/35/18 previously with the exception of the A052 which does not come in that size so ran 265/35. The 275 RT660 looks quite a bit wider than the other brands I've used so leaning toward 265s again.
cant confirm about the width on the RT660. Ive been tracking an integra the last few months since my m3 is transitioning to race wheel to wheel. But i think its safe to assume they run slightly wider

I have a set of s3r’s scheduled for install next week. Hoping to get some first runs with them next weekend to see how they perform.

Given that they’re 5/32 depth I’m not expecting them to last as long as my nt01’s have. I have a suspicion that they’ll be fast but short lived kinda like a a052 which I haven’t tried yet.

Finally got around to reading the February issue of Grassroots Motorsports. They had a tire review with the 3R, Trofeo R, and AR-1.
The 3R were consistent, able to do 1:18.2 at Harris Hill
Trofeo R could also do 18.2 for one lap, but then fell off about 0.5 sec

From what I can tell, they only did 3 hot laps. So no idea how long if these tires would last the distance of a 20 or 30 minute session.

As for the AR-1, it was quite a bit slower than the other two at this test, BUT this tire apparently needs to be heat cycled.
They retested it later after a HC. It did 19.5, but since this was a separate test, this data may or may not be comparable.

My experience has been with Hankook RS4, Re71r and the A052.
Re71r and A052 are way faster than the RS4. A052 being the faster tire of the 3. I really like the A052.
I was thinking of trying the AR1 next but after reading this thread might go with the F1 3R first.
