For Sale, one 1995 BMW M3 5-speed coupe. Avus blue exterior over Dove Grey Vaders. 151,XXX miles. This is a project car but a project that could be tackled in many different ways. Car needs very little to be a reliable daily driver while you wrench on the weekends. This car is a great candidate for a full restoration or perfect to be stripped down and turned into a track car.
Pro’s: Runs, drives and stops great. Tracks straight down the road, front suspension is nice and tight, same goes for the rear and it’s sitting on Bilstein shocks. Some sort of aftermarket exhaust, sounds fine, installed poorly. Brakes have tons of life.
Manual Vaders functioning as they should and they are in very good shape considering the age and the fact these are Dove grey. Steering wheel leather is perfect.
Cooling system is functioning as it should. Car comes up to temp beautifully, sits right at the halfway point as it should. Cooling system has been serviced in the last 40k miles evidenced by metal thermostat housing. Coolant level sensor is trash, giving a low coolant warning when that is not the case.
Heat works great, not sure on AC. It’s damn cold so it’s tough to test.
Engine runs like a top. No rattles, clunks, oddness of any kind. No vanos rattle. This is an s50 motor and OBD1. AC Scnitzer strut bar up front. NO CEL, inspected through December 2022. Transmission shifts smoothly, clutch feels great with NO slippage.
No rust at jackpoints, no rust on rear fenders, very clean car underneath. Good chance this car spent many winters off the New England roads. The body of this car
Cons: The interior suffers from many of the common e36 issues. Door cards are trash but all there and salvageable if you go that route. Headliner is trash. Sunroof opens very slowly, I took it half way and turned back… If you buy it you can open it all the way. Glovebox sags but is all there.
Rust on base of trunk but not through, grind off, repaint. Small rust hole through battery box.
Will need tires. Front passenger tire is in bad shape. PO had been driving on it though…
Paint is roached, see the pictures. $9500 location 01907
I have a ton more pictures if anyone is interested.
