Hi everyone,
It is time for my M3 e46 convertible to find a new owner! I am the second owner, the first kept the car from buying it new in 2004 to 2019. He took fairly good care of it with maintenance record, but I decided to address a big chunk of the known issues right away as preventative maintenance: Vanos, rod bearings and new suspension were handled by Kaiv in San Diego, almost everything else was done at the M Shop in LA. The subframe hasn’t been touched and is checked every time the car goes in maintenance and it is so far pristine.
The car has never been driven violently, the previous owner was an older gentleman and I do not drive like a maniac either. It is a convertible anyways, so it is mostly enjoyed cruising, although I do bring it to the canyons here and there. That is where the SMG system is most appreciated. My take on it is that it truly is fantastic when you are on the right setting and understand how the system operates. City driving becomes much easier and spirited driving is amazing with faster (and better) shifting than I ever could.
Everything on the car works and it just got detailed w/ paint sealant – it really is a “turn-key” car ready to go any distance safely. I was planning on keeping it for a long time (hence all the preventative maintenance), but the family expansion plan requires a bigger car.

The previous owner gave me all the maintenance record he had, and of course I also have all receipts for the work done and the parts bought over the past year. For the most significant part:
