No m8 you will be fine just watch your mirrors as there is some fast cars out there but they are all in the same boat and dont want to fling it off the track.

I do a 60.04 sec lap the lambo does A 54.00 sec Lap

If this is your first time you should do it in 65.00sec / 68.00sec lap

And to be fair, Derek, that Lambo was actually racing, rather than 'just' being on a track day. The two are very different. Remember that when you're on a track day, YOU set YOUR pace. If you want to pootle around at 30mph whilst you get used to things, then so be it.

What I do highly recommend though (seeing as it will be your first day out) is to get some driver tuition. Most events provide it at about £30 for 20 mins. I would probably even go as far as booking multiple sessions ie plan on having the instructor with you for about half of the day/session. If you get a half decent instructor (most of them are!), then you will get much, much more out of this few hundred quid than paying for a day's track insurance.

Best of luck. You'll have a ball. And only then will you truly 'understand' the CSL.

(And judging by some of the vids that I've seen of Knockhill, I'm going to have to make a journey up to the 'far North' at some point in the future. I'll see you there! :beer

Does nobody do a Policy that includes Trackdays. I used to pay £420 per year (it was Limited Mileage) to insure my 964RS with an agreed value of £55k and it included all 'organised trackdays'

That was through A Manning Ltd. Not sure if they do the same for CSL etc but gotta be worth asking.

I investigated that sort of policy when I got my CSL. But nobody was interested in a CSL worth £30k - their payout limit was nearer £15-20k.

              Didn't seem much point.

Seems odd they would insure a 15 year old car worth £55k but not a 5 year old one worth £30k!!

                Hmmmm, will investigate further.

If i'm home Mark i'll make the long trip up north for the CSL Knockhill trackday.

I'll stay over night in a hotel somewhere, never been before so would be good experience

Sounds good. TBH not that bothered about the distance as i don't get much opportunity to drive the car seeing as i work abroad a alot.

Hotel recommendations would be appreciated Derek thanks.

Be good to meet you all.
