lol @ not being able to get better.

What about KW competition, or Intrax 4 way, or Moton, or Ohlins, or Penske, or Dynamics, all better than KW clubsport (with correspondingly bigger price tags).

I weighed up Intrax 1k2 and KW Clubsport, both about the same money with top mounts added to the KW and went Intrax due to the philosophy they share with Ohlins - better quality damping allowing a softer spring rate.

Having said all of that, suspension is a very personal thing, what one person likes another may hate so driving a car with your intended dampers and setup is the way to go before buying, ideally in the environment you care most about, road or track...

Does the KW competition come with harder or softer springs than the V3?

I suppose I was meaning, can't get better withut getting into ridiculous money! A few guys I know have Penske stuff on their GT3, and seem to have a lot of problems with them. I don't think some of the more expensive (better??) stuff likes to be used on a daily/weekly basis on the road as they seem to suffer from the pot holes, bumps, generally bad surfaces we have, as opposed to the nice flat race tracks they were really intended for. I know a lot of the M3's and CSL's are not just tucked away for trackdays and are used fairly regularly. You are 100% correct in that it's a personal thing, I should have re-phrased my post to read, "can't get better for the money, without sacraficing my wallet!!" Lol. I'll be selling the M3 at the start of next year to buy a GT3, so will need to ask some other people's opinion on KW on a Porsche, but it'll be top of the enquiry list due to the excellent experience I have had during the M3 useage.

Didn't know Nitron did a kit. Had them on the NSX and they were amazing.

I had Nitron on my Noble but having gone through the pain of being the first person with a specific set of Nitron dampers I wouldn't do it again. The Elise is different as there are so many sets out there, having said that Hogffmans after 10 years have taken a completely new approach to Nitron setup on the Elise and everyone is raving about them. Go figure!

I'd recommend going with a damper where you feel confident of getting a reasonable base set up and where you know you aren't a guinea pig...

Intrax are softer sprung than KW clubsport so ride curbs better but ultimately both are good, try and drive one car on each and go with what you prefer.

I'm in Berks and happy to show people Intrax 1K2 with the spring rate I chose (they do 3 or 4 choices).

Its settled ok now mate , prob a little too hard so will soften it up a little , other than that it superb now its run in a bit, and yes it would of gone race car low if needed !

Post up some pics and give us some feedback once your all sorted .. , took a long fast sweeping corner that I usually do at 80 ish today , and felt weird as it was so planted didn't get the usual feedback .. def needs a tweak , kinda left me feeling I wouldn't know it would break lose till it was too late :119:

Nice one, Im looking forward to getting them fired on. Setting up will be fun (good and bad!)

I'll be posting before and after pics, and give a review as best I can.

I'll be keeping mine a little softer to start with, better that as the tyres loosing traction without me even feeling a lean!

Are you set up with Thorneys Fast road Geo?

I'm even more confused as to which way to go with my suspension now after reading all the posts on here!!! :119:

I think the best thing is that I grab some rides next year in cars with different setups, KW/Intrax/etc.

Unless anyone can post up a guide?

More than Happy to oblige :-D

Think its a case of really getting used to the set up , and adjustment etc , someone made a really valid point about not being to hard so it can take the bumps and dips in road cambers more effectively , not skip across them , the hard / low set up is perfect if your on track .. but for the ring and daily "Fast" effective road use it needs to be a mix of both ....

When I get some time, im adjusting mine a little so I get some feeling back into it ... then should be perfect for me ..

And I guess everyone has an optimum setup up depending on there own pref

The reason i went for the Varient 3's over the clubsports was the above.!
Onthe 3's the comp damping is a fair way out so with the Clubsports being even stiffer i dont think they would go enough on the comp damping to work.

Varient 3's with the KW top mounts are the best for me!
