    VMAX Record...

This has to be worth posting ! New Vmax Topspeed record at Brunters of 222mph roof up & 210mph roof down. Its punching 1120bhp. :smokin:

General Car Related Discussion. - New Topspeed record at Vmax - The Porsche below has set a new Vmax Topspeed record at Brunters of 222mph roof up & 210mph roof down. Its punching 1120bhp. A year ago I had thoughts of setting a new Vmax record as it stood at 211mph this has destroyed that little plan , but i do...

That car is almost the perfect definition of a sleeper.

I was at the VMAX a couple of years ago where 9FF first showed up with a 996 convertible, and apart from the suspiciously fruity engine noise, there's very little evidence from the outside about what's lurking underneath the bonnet (boot?).

I was told that the blue 9FF car crashed at the end of the day whilst it was being driven by the owner of 9FF and he was airlifted to hospital.

Car was the blue one that was a one off and was totally trashed.

      I think it was this one . . .

I'm not sure about airlifted... over on PH in the VMAX forum, Craig said that Jan (the guy who was injured) came back to Bruntingthorpe later on, and they also said the damage was not as bad as it looked.

Indeed, getting up to 220+ in 1.5 miles is rapido. I'm fairly sure the eventual top speed is far higher with the right gearing!

Impressive, but how driveable is that thing with 1000+ BHP?

Many hazy, trust me Maybe not in England, but definitely in U.S/ Saudi / Germany.

                        I'm talking about:

Turbo Supras, Twin Turbo Vettes, Twin Turbo Ford GT, Twin Turbo Gallardo/Murcielago, Turbo Big Block Camaro's, and a few others.

Let me give you some statistics: :drool::drool:

                        Twin Turbo Gallardo:

                        1352hp to the wheels

                        1/4 mile 9.1 at 169mph, this is on 19inch street-legal tires

                        60-130mph in 3.5sec

standing mile in 240 mph The porsche can only manage 220 after 1.5 miles...

                        Compare this with 60-130mph times

                        Bugatti Veyron: 5.6 sec
                        A Modified Suzuki GXR 1000cc : 5.9 sec
                        Ferrari Enzo: 7 sec
                        Ferrari F430: 9.5 sec
Ferrari Challenge Stradale 11.7 sec (just to make it hurt :whistle

The TT Gallardo is twice as fast as the Enzo. And the power is fully usable thanks to the AWD.

In any case, that porsche will spank about 99.99% of any cars that you might encounter though.

Sorry about the little rant but i'm a big HP fan :smt055

Swift, here's a UK based car (is now anyway) with 1000bhp+. Now owned by a mate of mine and as posted on another thread a few weeks ago:

Goes very well when it's not cracking fuel tanks, eh Giles. :banghead:
