Hi Jonathon, welcome to the site I'm sure I met you at Knockhill did you have a dark merc estate car as I have it on video at Knockhill. On after Market warranties they all seem to get out on the wear and tear clause as very few parts are broken due to mechanical failure. I would save my money or go for BMW warranty which is more but you know they will fix the car and you get goodwill gestures. Just my opinion.

yes that was me last year in an amg estate which is now gone and replaced with a 3.0 RR Sport
Csl arrives on Saturday. Looking forward to getting back in one. It is set up for track so may need to adjust the suspension for more road miles. Just depends on how hard it is. The previous owner kept it in track mode and used it as an everyday car. Will probably see you at Knockhill. If I re
ember your it was was extremely quick!

goodwill, who do you call for that then ?
I had some warranty work done by the good guys at Murketts and paid my excess.
I have just had the car fail the MOT today at the local BMW garage due to excessive play in the rear ball joint some 300 miles on from the visit to Murketts. I took the car to a friends MOT station last week for the once over and he said all was fine, just had to fix an exhaust mount and replace a couple of bolts where the exhaust flange on the mid pipe joins the back box as the flange had cracked on the mid pipe, which we did.
I checked it in with BMW this morning and asked if the mid pipe were covered under warranty, to be told no, sorry no exhaust parts are covered, I know the cats are covered so I will be checking on the mid pipe
may be goodwill  anyway it was in for the MOT so I left it with them ...
The conversation went something like
Sorry sir your car has failed its MOT due to bla bla
I find that strange its just been in to a specialist CSL centre less than 300 miles ago, oh well its covered under warranty go ahead and fix it.
Sorry sir its not
Sorry I think your wrong can you please check.
Its not covered sir
Strange the front ones just been changed under warranty, can you type my reg into your computer and look at the service history.
Oh yes sir it has just had some warranty work, please hold the line.... yes we can do that under warranty, its only after 50,000 miles its not covered
are you sure I think you ve got it wrong ? the premiums increase after 60,000 miles but if you are happy to pay the premium its still covered.
No sir that's not right
Ah OK then, I ll discuss that with BMW
Sir you could call the other dealership and they should be able to get you a credit on your excess as it was missed and you haven't done much mileage but you will have to pay us the excess tomorrow
OK I said, its worth the call.
I phoned Andy and explained my concern that I thought the other dealer was just trying it on and they didnt even think that its was covered under a warranty claim, but if he could get me a credit that would be great and worth a call. Now with Andy
These muppets who work at some BMW garages, surely you would check what work has been done and when, if its covered under a warranty scheme or the BMW used car warranty, its not that hard to type a reg into a computer :banghead:
sorry I seem to have gone on a bit :gayfight:
who do you call for goodwill ? I need to ask some questions
it seems some garages haven't got a clue what can be claimed for and dare I say, some garages just try things on for additional work
 for dealers like Murketts who actually know and even better, when you call they remember who you are
shame they are so far way :bigcry:
