    Daz

mate of mine had one of these from new about 4-5 years back in central LN. He used to say it was a great puller of ze snatch / knicker snapper at 200m but only an ok drive, although great noise.

He then went on to buy the volante - his biggest mistake - when the chicks could see the driver clearly, the elastic stopped snapping :hahaha:

              My 2 peneth.......

Bear in mind that my CSL isn't my everyday car, it only comes out to play in the summer....so my decision isn't based on the same basis.

I had a good long test drive in a V8 Vantage. It is stunning to look at, sounds amazing, but the drive didn't match the sound and the looks. Don't get me wrong - it certainly isn't slow, but it isn't fast either.

The other main issue for me was the reflection of the dash on the inside of the windscreen - it was just terrible, I was really struggling not to focus on the reflection rather than looking through it. This would really bug me in the long run. My wife drove it and she found the same.

In the end, we bought an RS4 - similar V8 sound, but a more usable car with the added benefit of 4WD (which was a life saver this winter) and the RS has pretty much held it's money over the last 2 years (but I know I bought it at the right time at the right price, so there is some luck there).

For me, the CSL is one of a kind, BMW did their job a bit too well with this car. It still looks modern by todays standards and I just don't think I'll ever get rid of it - but I doubt I could live with it as my only daily car. The CSL is at the dealers having some warranty work, and when I parked it outside, there were 3 or 4 of the sales guys looking at it for ages - it's still got it despite it's age.

You would love the Aston........for about 6 months.

Well I tried to get to Daz Thursday morning to stop him test driving the Aston but unfortunately I was 10 mins too late! :blalalala:
I was on the way back from dropping the CSL off & blame it on the VW Fox loaner car I got from Lepsons in Swindon :gayfight:

                    Don't do it Daz :smt023
