No bud, the girls at signing on were very politeOriginally posted by O'Neill View PostGood time:supz:
Was there any awkward moments with Jonny, did you speak to him, did he personally put your wrist band on extra tight:-D
JR's drivers briefing was typical JR loving the sound of his own voice
Until i got the boot I didn't see him :smt055
The ironic thing was all the caterhams had lap timing equipment clearly in use lol

To be fair, and I will be completely honest.
I thought Bookatrack stance to begin with was justified, you can fully understand their view. Well I can. But their handling of the situation and their response was not justified.
Jonny has come across as a complete and utter fuckwit, especially kicking you off the track.
My basic psychology understanding predicted the outcome. I was slightly out on the reason

I can see your point of view given that yes he has a 7day rule but if he doesn't answer the phone all weekend and doesn't ring you back should it be a 9 day rule. I did try and contact him this weekend to make sure my day hadn't been cancelled and again no answer.Originally posted by lawsy View PostTo be fair, and I will be completely honest.

I would have taken a credit not if he hadn't of been so rude & insulting towards me & family. Im going over old ground on this matter (for the last time) but being in business myself i can't get my head around his thinking regrading being hard nosed & straight taking towards people because it comes across rude and arrogant. I wouldn't dream of talking/treating my customers that way because without them I'm screwed...!
Getting sent home was beyond belief when I'm pitted next to a catherham that had a 1500 timing system! Maybe my wife in the stands with her I phone stop watch was just too much! Either way I'm home in one piece with a smile on my face so happy days!

I very much doubt that..............Originally posted by CraigMillwardCroft View PostNow Mark has banned him, does that mean all CSL's are banned from Bookatrack
timing on a track day? no surprise you were thrown off, one of the first rules of track days with which ever company you use. It invalidates their insurance and its not worth the risk to them.
Others may have been timing but keeping it to themselves so not really a problem.
83SY came on here and publicly showed he was timing, whichever way you look at it that was breaking the rules of the day and they had every right to throw you off that as i would hope they would do with anyone doing the same.
I will be using BaT again and will be first choice for any of my future track days.

So for taking sake if your m8 times your laps from the pit lane the car being timed should go home ???Originally posted by petery View PostI very much doubt that..............

Thats pish with all the tools to post times from mobile phones and the like
Its posible to post times for every car that is doing a lap at any track in the world as it happens.
It looks like BaT just wanted to piss him off after the fall out
but he spat the dummy and to use the site as a way to do it was
SHIT thats why he got a BAN.
You and any body on this site can use them but there will be a few members wont inc me.

That's all well and good and yes timing is possible in many ways but NO timing on track days is a rule that is in place, we can all take the risk to time but we have to suffer the consequences if we get caught.Originally posted by Mark CSL View PostSo for taking sake if your m8 times your laps from the pit lane the car being timed should go home ???

I don't see it as any different to speeding on the road, we all take the risk and do it sometimes but if we get caught you take the punishment.
If its a mate doing it on the pit wall i think that is a little bit different, but keeping it to yourself until the end of the day is really not that hard.
83SY would never have been thrown off the day if he hadn't posted the times during the day. If he'd waited until he left then nothing would have been done about it and you could all go back to talking about a good time round Donington.

I'm sure you time your laps Petery? Yes wrong to post them, lesson learn!Originally posted by petery View PostI very much doubt that..............

But there was at least 10 catherhams brimming with timing equipment & unless JR walks around with his eyes closed he knew that..
All that to one side BaT has so many of these catherhams buzzing round it drives you mad especially when 90% of them don't looks in their mirrors & move over! + in the wet they are all over the shop!
Enjoy your future track days & give JR my love

I do time my laps yes, as do 90% of the people on most track days and it is very hard for anyone to police and I'm not saying you were wrong to time but putting the times on a public forum could cause the track day organiser to have major problems if there was an accident/incident that involved their insurance company as they could prove that timing was happening invalidating their insurance. This applies to every organiser not just BaT.Originally posted by 83SY View PostI'm sure you time your laps Petery? Yes wrong to post them, lesson learn!

when running a business it's just not worth the risk.
I'm pretty sure most of the Caterham's out on the track today were Academy drivers so pretty new to this driving on track stuff.
Not all us Caterham drivers are the same........

That was my point in the way the situation was handled, Im not saying you were wrong.Originally posted by 83SY View PostI can see your point of view given that yes he has a 7day rule but if he doesn't answer the phone all weekend and doesn't ring you back should it be a 9 day rule. In business you have to think of the future and the way the current climate is, more so. Shortsighted on there part me thinks.
He would have been better biting his tongue, we all have to from time to time.
Regardless what his friends/supporters might say, and as I say to begin with I could see their point, he has not won himself any customers IMO, only possibly lost some.
You are allowed to film at trackdays and reviewing film will tell you how fast you completed a lap in, does not mean you are timing.
Good times by the way, you have Shimmy worried now.:gayfight:
My best in the GTR was 1.19,07 in the morning. Standard car, and nice and smooth driving. I think I did 1.20 with Yanto in, it was too easy tbh in that thing, and thats part the reason I sold it, it could have gone far quicker, but was not so rewarding on track and would cost a mortgage every trackday. That was first time out in the car.
I am tempted to get booked on this:smokin:
