"Agreed Value" valuations

Hi

I'm insuring my CSL on a classic policy & I'm wanting agreed value.

Is there any way of getting a valuation from the CSL reg that I can show to my insurers as proof of value ? If not I have to find a specialist to scribble something out

I though a car was only eligible for a 'Classic Policy' after it was 10 years Old?
You'd have to get a valuation from a specialist dealer eg. Munich Legends or NJ.
I doubt you'd get one from a BMW Dealership, unless perhaps Elms.:thumbs:

I had my 2003 turbo on a classic policy , limited mileage

Just insured the CSL with ClassicLine on an agreed mileage which includes the option of agreed value, until agreed running on market value. UK breakdown incl and trackdays incl subject to who organises it & appropriate excess. Personally hate agreed mileage , but for this 1st year of ownaship it won't be a problem.

Therein lies the problem - we are not an Car Club, we are in essence an owners co-op.
NJ is however a member of this auspicious organisation, and should be in a position to give you an accurate valuation.

Mmmmm. I had a quote last wk from them; found them quite pricey to insure 2 cars (CSL and CS). Admittedly, cheaper than Admiral (Multi-Car policy), but in the end went with Pace Ward, who were MUCH cheaper than either.

£746 they wanted off me. 5k miles. 9yr NCB. Nottingham. The M3 CS was £866 - 10k miles, mirrored NCB = £1612 in total.

Pace Ward - £950 for both cars, on their 'Family Fleet' scheme. Could also knock a further 50% off one (and any additional) of the cars if i was the only driver on the policy! Had to include the missus though :smt100

Given you bought it very recently surely the fair price is documented by the receipt for the car, it won't have jumped up or down in the last few weeks.

agreed value is not always based on what you bought the car for, but in the worst case scenario you had to find a replacement tomorrow , the amount a similar car would cost. from a dealer etc. I insure all my 'classics' on agreed value, as market value rates are usually well out when compared to the reality replacement cost of rare cars

Its like on antiques roadshow when they give the owners insurance valuations

Unless you are suggesting that you somehow got a super never to be repeated bargain deal on your car then the cost for replacement of a same spec car tomorrow would be about what you paid plus or minus a grand or two? That might change in the next 15-20 years as more get written off but right now your car could be replaced for what someone is willing to pay and we have a good gauge of that already on your invoice, I'd say the price you paid plus 2k would be sensible to get you back in the same spec car quickly (or as quickly as the currently non fluid CSL market would allow)? :beer:

I'm surprised they'd take owners club as proof too to be honest, owners clubs always seem to talk up their own books :thumbs:
