Shane - block exception doesn't apply to extended warranties, only the original one.
I just checked the latest Modial docs online and you are right they still say that you must use authorised BMW dealer.
I've deffo seen info to the contrary as seen below but best not to take the internet's word for it eh!

but was the oil service carried out before the warranty was taken out or after.Originally posted by shimmy View PostI've seen a claim where engine was replaced and last service was indie BMW specialist oil service, service book checked and authorised by BMW warranty Mondial. (not mine)

I took out the fully comp Mondial policy yesterday - £65/mth with £250 excess. Chap on phone said you do not have to use BMW to service, but MUST be serviced correctly. I'll still use BMW though. Might try Elms?Originally posted by _Nathan_ View PostI just checked the latest Modial docs online and you are right they still say that you must use authorised BMW dealer.

£65 per month - that sounds like a bargain!Originally posted by cslhunter View PostI took out the fully comp Mondial policy yesterday - £65/mth with £250 excess. Chap on phone said you do not have to use BMW to service, but MUST be serviced correctly. I'll still use BMW though. Might try Elms?
I'm sure mine was >£100 per month with a £100 excess

They need to update the policy documentation if that is the case.Originally posted by cslhunter View PostI took out the fully comp Mondial policy yesterday - £65/mth with £250 excess. The previous owner was paying £77/mth (£100 excess). The new price has gone up to £79/mth (still £100 excess). I was going to go with the £79 option, but decided to increase the excess to £250 to give a lower monthly of £64.85. So basically - £15mth cheaper to increase the excess by £150.Originally posted by deanobeano View Post£65 per month - that sounds like a bargain!

This is for the comprehensive cover.

Anyone know why my new policy is >£100 month then?
Is it because it's higher for the first year?
If so, after month 13 will it drop on monthly DD or am I stuck on the higher figure, 'cos I cannot alter the policy without getting penalised for being over 60k miles?
Typical, us newbies not only have to pay more to get into a CSL but then have to pay more for the warranty on top!
Should have bought one in 2008 instead of the RS6!

You will pay more for a lapsed warranty,I don't know if it will go down next year for you being on direct debit,it does go down when you pay annually. You will have to give them a ring.Originally posted by deanobeano View PostAnyone know why my new policy is >£100 month then?
