    It all depends dunnit ?

Standard M3 with stripped interior, BBK and uprated suspension is going to be better on track than a stock CSL.

Mod both cars to the same level, and the CSL will be better because it has more power and less weight to start with.

And taking the piss out of Cutters is just part of the job description of any CSL owner

No double standards. Cutters are wrong, we (CSLR members) are right. Any subject, any statement. Easy

I wouldn't modify a CSL now, they are good enough out of the box on the track and worth more as standard.

If you really need to go faster on a track and not worry about the ever increasing value of a CSL, M3's are cheap enough to buy and modify.

Would never sell the CSL though.

Gayers.....it's just a car. I'd sell mine tomorrow of needed to. Luckily I've got three kids I can sell first before CSL has to go.

Yeah like Nathan said, I can comfortably stay with some CSL's, most are a good battle, get the odd few like Shimmy, 83SY that are just silly quick

I never saw 83SY on track but Shimmy quick ? Not bad but

I've lightened my M3, fitted a carbon airbox, it's better than most of your Csl rot boxes

I've always said it…CSL is a beautiful car and no doubt more capable when both in standard form.

The battle for me when choosing was to spend less on an E46 M3 and make it more capable for less money, or buy a CSL and be throwing 25k+ round a track, I chose the M3…

I'm not saying everyone should do the same as that would make things boring but even as a CSL owner you cannot deny the advantages to buying an M3 for 8k buying a few choice mods and make it as capable as a CSL on track for a lot less money, plus if the worst happens it's a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to source parts. Which I guess is what Derek is looking at.

As Shimmy says, it's just a car, so I will continue to use it as BMW intended - if I wanted an ornament I would have bought some Royal Doulton :gayfight: :blalalala:.
