Leak is bad enough that the light comes straight back on. I haven't gad it two weeks yet and it has a warranty, so might follow that route depending on cost.

If your excess is £100 then it will be viable to submit a claim via Mondial.
£250 excess and it might be marginal.
Probably worth getting an estimate from BMW (don't mention the warranty) and then submit a claim on the basis of the price given.
As peeps have mentioned it's a bumper off job so may incur an hour or more of labour alone.
I have been told I can get to it from inside the wheel arch to see what is going on, so will do that tomorrow.

done mine last week ,it was the motor rubber seals ;took them out cleaned them and put a bit of silicone  sealer round them before refitting job done
Offside flipper off and a 'Gaffer Tape' patch, sorted!
I noticed that the bottom of the bottle was cracked when I took the flippers off for 'MarkCSL' to re-lacquer.
You can get to the motors from the wheel arch
here is the bottle with the bumper off it takes 20min to remove the bumper if you have the tools
Did you manage without taking the bumper off? Any pointers appreciated.

i took the bumper off just incase it was a cracked washer bottle ,bumpers easy to take off its a bit tricky with the refit if your on your own but i managed it ok ive been told you can to the motors by removing the inner arch ,thats all mine was just a reseal

Easiest way to get to that filler pipe is to actually take the indicator out
But yes you can actually take the filler bottle out without removing the bumper - it's the bottom trim arch that you remove - which is piss easy ( 2 plastic rivets, 4 x 8mm screws and it's out in no time.
