Neil as far as bmw told us there are no way of telling what the car number was so how do you know if this is the production number ?

The first thing is, don't believe everything you're told! :whistle:

Fact - all VIN's are logged, all allocations are logged, a simple application of deductive reasoning can either confirm or refute the accuracy of the original statement which was based upon the premise of '422' being the UK allocation. :119:
The Production No. is the easy one, if you use the chassis sequence as the basis for production and not the date as this is not relevant to the Unique No. '1 of 422' which is where it becomes a little more difficult.

The RHD CSL were produced in 6 Batches between July 03 to Dec 03, however various allocations were randomly contained within the each of the production batches, which is why it was said to be difficult.
In order to determine the UK allocation, all allocations had to be determined first and then discounted as applicable. (if that makes sense)

The forgoing is just an extract, which was undertaken to establish how many of the RHD produced cars that were allocated to the UK, were in fact de-limiteds. :supz:
There is a lot more data available which includes all RHD Models produced: UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Hong-Kong, I thought this may be enough to tickle the taste buds!:thumbs:

Mine's delimited from the factory, is an early '03 car and is not on this list.

Mine must have been one of the last ones produced then. Build is dec 03 and last vin is 33. So if 45 was the last one! 12 from last!
