BMW warranty vs track day use

What's the score on warranty and covering (or not) for track day use?

Taken my car in again as per thread in the technical area and they said they wouldn't drive it any further as the tyres were dangerous and looked like they were melting:hahaha:

still got lots of funny bits of rubber hanging off the PS2's from Brands.:supz:

Just wondering if they try and slip out of warranty work if they suspect tor know of track use?

Why do you need to tell them about trackday use?

It's just another road made out of tarmac.

As for your Tyres are they illegal? If not tell them to get a grip and sort your car out.

i quote my CSL supplementary guide (which came with the car from new, from BMW)...

"Congratulation on your choice of a BMW M3 CSL.
The better you are acquainted with your BMW M3 CSL, the easier it will be to drive on the road and on the track."....

.....from what that states, looks like your covered. the track is what the car is made for, fact.

The tyres are nowhere near illegal! Fronts are just over half worn rears only done a couple of k!

I have no plan to tell them about track use was just wondering as another manufacturer used that against me in a previous warranty claim!

I think I may have to invest the time in a trip to murketts as the two dealers near me are useless!

Will be an interesting.conversation tomorrow when I collect the car..

Car is back, and clean. but not fixed. Will go somewhere else soon to investigate. Probably Murketts but they're miles away from here and have no time in the next couple of weeks

The guy at BMW came to show me my tyres and show me that "something very strange is happening and you should get these changed" :hahaha: Guess they've never seen what tyres look like after a track day. Numpties.

Back in 2005 I had my dealer change the diff under warranty BECAUSE I was going on a trackday soon (it didn't sound healthy). I said I didn't want that thing letting go down Craners :hahaha:
