    BMW Tracker?

Hi guys, thought I'd post this in here for obvious reasons!

Looking through a bit of paperwork I have on the CSL I noticed that it has a tracker fitted but I've never paid anything to activate it or check if it is or isn't activated!

Would it be a BMW one or aftermarket one and also, if activated and my car only runs once or twice a week will it start killing/draining the battery?

I've not had good experiences with trackers in the past and don't want to wake up to a flat battery every bloody time I want to go out in it!

    Thanks

Not worth a carrot IMO, if your insurance does not stipulate its needed.

I would not want my car back after some scrote had nicked it and screwed it round.

Id rather they wrote the fucker off into a tree and died in the process:thumbs:

It will be after market, did the form say "tracker" if so tracker is a brand name, so it will be tracker.

You can reactivate it and buy subscription, depend what version is fitted, 1 yr, lifetime etc, re the cost to do so.

It made no difference to my insurance cost either when I cancelled the tracker.

BMW UK dealerships fitted the tracker in most CSLs prior to sale here iirc. Many were not fitted correctly, most cars are not 'protected' by the subscription (rip off) service these days anyway.

Some insurers stipulate them as a requirement.

        Waste of fooking space imho.

My insurance stipulate that I need a tracker fitted, only cost £99 for a tracker monitor supplied and fitted and £135 for the year.

I'm with lawsy though If it got nicked I wouldn't want it back!!!

True I agree Shane, I wouldn't want it back either but I just thought it might be a bit more peice of mind, pointless though if I think that I guess! lol

My insurance doesn't give a discount for them, neither does the policy require me to have one!

I might try and find it and rip it out then, save some weight! :hahaha:

I installed trackers, so I know the "type" of location to install them,

My first guess would be behind the boot panels, seen a few e46 with trackers here.

              Passenger footwell is another option.

Pull it out and sell on ebay, some inbred will buy it:hahaha:

Leave it in, its an additional point come resale time. Plus the dealer says it was there

Mine was on the right hand side of the boot. Even when the car was stripped the insurers insisted it was left in so I drove round with it on display
