    Fookin Incensed..

So my folks always spend first 5 weeks of the year in Marbella - a timeshare they've been going to for 25 years. Quiet, reserved, very small resort, mid-aged to older couples with/without families. Not the 18-30's scene. M&D go there every year, made friends with many folks who have been going for same weeks.

My old man, 75 years old, passive as they come, most unconfrontational guy you could meet and all round nice bloke. Likes to be inclusive with others (quiz's, singalongs etc) in bar / after dinner but doesnt "bother" others if they dont wish to get involved and is respectful of others privacy.

Last night after meal (everyone in restaturant, which is on site and a very casual restaurant/bar place not a posh gig, had finished eating) with c. 20 odd folks (many Irish, all same age group of 60-80), they decide on a singalong before they all return back home tomorrow.

Scottish (no slight Mark, Paul etc. just fact !!) family (young guy of 35/missus etc), drinking quite heavily, takes offence by some of the songs. Now bear with me here.....I'm not particulary religious so the gravity of the protestant/catholic thing washes over me a little. They ask the group to pipe down on certain songs as they're finding them offensive. Group apologise and move onto singing something else.

20 mins later, my Old Man heads to the gents. Guy follow him and then verbally lays into him ("fookin coont this/that, jabbing him in chest, threatening to knock his head off trouble making coont, spark him out, crack his head on the porcelain etc etc....he's 75 FFS !!). .....my old man simply replies "Well, I dont think that's particulary constructive!" :smokin:

This goes on for 10 mins to the point that my old dear has to send in a couple of waiters to the gents to find out where he is..then it all goes off.

WTF is wrong with people ??? Am I missing something ? Surely there is a time and a place for aggro around politics / religion etc. but this aint it right ? Some hooligan having a go at a bunch of mixed religion / nationality wrinklies enjoying a singalong before they go home !!

I was that incensed today, I nearly left work this morning straight for Stansted / Gatwick and go and sort this prick out. Seriously.

Rant over, but needed to get that off my chest :banghead:

    As you were...

TWAT he deserves a good kick in (not your Dad !)

I hope your Dad is OK, it doesn't need fists to effect older people's health.

I don't care what he was singing!

Spot on Steve. Spoke to him this morn and he sounded like he'd been hit for six - as in "what did I do wrong ?".

He just doesn't experience this level of agg in sleepy Shropshire. Worst is, I know shit like this plays on his mind.

          Madness

I understand completely where you're coming from. We were out somewhere very recently and a band were signing something that one individual 'classed' as a 'Rangers' song and being a 'Celtic' fan took offence and started laying into the Band! I mean, how shallow and pig headed can you be??? Really, does everything revolve around Football and religion in these people's heads? Well, I suppose if you've nothing but Jeremy Kyle to stimulate the mind during the 'Benefit defrauding' days, then I suppose so.

You Dad done very well though to answer as he did, sounds like a top bloke.

Best not to let it wind you up Ian.

My ex used to live in Canterbury, one day we were having a stroll around, nice summers day. We decided to have a coffee in starbucks right next to the cathedral. We were queueing up, an elderely couple a few people back from us. Late 60's-early 70's. The lady knocked into some lad as he was walking out. Complete accident. Spilt a bit of coffee on his t shirt. He was going ape, the old dear was so frightened, her husband tried to calm the lad down (late 20's). He proceeded to take his t shirt off and try to fight with the old man. The couple looked like they were having a cardiac. Everyone just stood watching. The lad tried to punch the old guy, I stopped him and kicked the fucking shit out of him. (the lad not the old guy:hahaha His mates had to carry him away. Mindless little thugs.

As long as our yold man is OK, thats whats important.

                            Cheers fellas.

Like the story Shane, good on you. These pricks just have no respect for the older generation.

Very corageous of him to follow the old man into the gents and kick off rather than have it out in public. If I'd have been there, I wonder if he'd been so brave. Im no fighter, but this just brings the worst out in me and I genuinely think I would have hospitalised the prick or worse - I admit, not a smart move back in the real world with job / career etc. but the red mist has been there all day.

It was all logged etc by the resort, Managers, security etc. so I just need to get hold of the records

Spoke to missus earlier and family not shown their faces tonight apparantly. I think there is a lynch mob cruising the resort (picture a group of 70 somethings with weighted handbags and shooting sticks :hahaha

                              I did.

it was 8 years ago to the day yesterday since my accident. Twas a hard day, couldnt stop thinking about it. It never gets to me, but I'm done in, long hrs work and the little lad is not sleeping, so I'm worn out, tired, angry and yesterday I let it get to me. :bigcry:
