Homecoming Trip - Andy Pressland Charity Trackday/Dinner

Just for you members for now, we have had the idea to collect for charity whilst we are on the trip from all that are involved (private and corporate).

The idea is to base the charitable part of the event in the memory of Andy Pressland who was the BMW Service Manager at Murketts BMW back a few years ago before he sadly died suddenly in 2011. For those of you who dont remember Andy please feel free to SEARCH on here or read this:

Happy to listen to any suggestions about how to do this best and collect the money and distribute it. We will need one of two members to help head this up as we go into through the trip so we dont forget

Currently the plan would be to collect either for Marie Curie Cancer Nurses or for The Arthur Rank Hospice (Cambridge) where any spent his last few weeks (or both).

We could name the trackday or dinner after Andy to raise money!

A suggestion, if I may. How about a toast to Andy at the Sunday Dinner and an impromptu collection then. But otherwise keep it the joyful occasion it is, and how he would have liked us to enjoy.

Could do this at the 'Ring dinner too.

How about an auction after dinner on one of the nights and get some of the companys to donate prizes who want to be associated with this trip ie cup tyres from michelin , free service from bmw uk, and goodies from bmw it self

Am in. Not sure we can rely on suppliers for this. A toast and a throw in of £20 each will yield £1500+.......nice donation.

1. Raffle €20 per head for free trackday place at Salzburgring (or equivalent euros)
2. Auction for donated prizes from Elms, Michelin, Castrol, Pistonheads, BMW.

I already have donated prizes from Elms (3 prizes) and Michelin and a couple of members here have suggested they may have a couple of prizes to throw in.

NOW what I need is a volunteer auctioneer :supz:

Someone with a sense of humour, loud voice, if northern/Scottish/Welsh we must be able to understand what they say.

VOLUNTEERS And SUGGESTIONS and we will press gang them in.
