NLA and low on Stock CSL Parts

    Hi gents and girls

Given the diversity of views on this subject matter I thought I would post up in here first to gain some views as to where you guys wants this information posted - if at all.

I've gotten a stock level count back from BMW AG's main system on some of the more common CSL only parts and the local manager has fired off a letter to BMW AG directly to find out more as to what is happening with the NLA parts and he's also put our concerns forward about this to BMW AG directly.

Now my question - do you guys want me to reveal what's left on the main forum or do you want me to just hold onto these information myself? Or do you want it posted in members only section?

I've also been promised that I will be forwarded any correspondences they get back from BMW AG directly about this.

    Now discuss.

I feel that if you post what's available and what's not, there maybe be a panic buying situation. People buying up parts just in case, what BMW need to reinforce is the procedure of 'proof of ownership' before allowing customers to purchase parts and not permit 3rd party companies, 'Simpsons Motorsport', 'Thorney' etc unless its for their own cars of course which they can prove they own of course.

I have nothing against people 'building' CSL's out of salvaged parts from damaged, scrapped cars of course but buying up the new spares to carry out projects just seems wrong.

That's my feeling, well done getting the parts list though. Hopefully they can still manufacture most of the parts. I priced a front bumper recently and they were wanting north of £4k!!! Me or the parts guy couldn't believe it, mental money for a bumper.

That sort of information needs to be kept for the eyes of owners, this is an open forum where access is available to "the world and it's wife" every "Tom Dick or Harry" can look at what has been posted in any of the categories with the exception of the 'Members' vault.

Most actual 'Members' I think I'm right in saying will be owners. Best to keep it that way IMO, as the availability of new parts is decreasing owners should have first call, not the Wannabees and ex-colonials who now wish they had it.

Keep it in the NZ_M3 CSL info vault Tom and only share it on "need to know" basis, with a proof of CSL chassis number & a secret pass word :smokin:

I reckon keep it quiet too, on a need to know basis! And there are lots of people that don't need to know

Tom - agreed, I think this should stay out of public domain...

                      UNLESS...

We create an "owners section".......and post there.....

Work on the premise that there is no cross posting across other sections of the forum (or for that matter other sites)......a sacred, controlled section for owners and owner contributions only ?

If rules a broken, delinquents are banished to the "cursed earth"...that is M3cutters :hahaha:

I think (hope) we're all adult enough to avoid a run on parts unless they're really needed ?

                      Mark, thoughts ?
