    Speeding Should i fight it

I have a speeding ticket request asking who was driving
    its a camera van ticket

Dated 03 nov i just got the ticket today 3 jan 2014
its dated 30 dec 2013 they had to send it to bmw as it was a curtisy car i was driving

i was coming round a corner at the time with a car right behind me and a car coming the other way between me and the van

Should i ask for photo evedence ?
should i just take the points i have none just now

A road they say i was doing 83 mph in a 60 mph

    Cheers Mark

Is there a fixed penalty offer in there as well ? I think 83 in a 60 might be a bit high for the standard 3-pointer.

It's probably hard to fight it without paying a lot of money to a specialist firm, if you think the speed they recorded could be accurate...

    Bad luck anyway.

If they are offering just 3 points and a small fine £60, take it as too fast for naughty school.
I got done on A404 87mph uphill on local bypass by van in layby lucky I had slowed down for it.
Because mine is company truck (My company) have to fill in forms 3 times even though I told them first time me, but they have to have there paperwork correct, so first one for company to tell them it was me, next one to myself to confirm it was still the same person, and final one to get the fine and points done.
They have a great paperwork system wasting tax payers money in letters right bunch of :wanker:

they dont tell you what you are being offered until someone has accepted the nip

too high for SAC or 3pt/£60 so id ask for photo proof as its not your car

This might help Mark. I would check out the period between the offence and the date notification is received as thats a long period. (they may have informed the owner who has now supplied your name hence the delay)

Had the same sort of thing. Got "done" doing 57 in supposedly temporary roadworks 50 limit on the M40 or M42 in Oct. No idea how as I thought I was ultra careful & set cruise control on every set of roadworks/avg speed section. Considered challenging but looks like that would have been expensive & probably fruitless, as well as thn losing the option of going to naughty school. Then all this stupidity with 3 sets of (fairly intimidating) letters because I didn't fill in the form correctly 1st time round (company car, my company, me driving). Complained their form was totally unclear & got agreement on that but told to submit a letter! Time wasters! Awaiting availability of SAC location options. They don't do SAC in Scotland AFAIK. Better than 3 points & insurance hike for 5 years though.

Also, I think the minimum fine is now £100 since Aug?

Yes the you are right it is now £100 like they need the money from all the money boxes around the country.
I do like doing 49 in a 30 limit on way to fires as there is nothing they can do always setting my local ones off :-D

                    Mark,

by law they have to have notified you of the alleged offence within 14 days.

If i was you i would be using this in my defence as they clearly have not managed to do this, if you were prepared to spend some money im fairly sure you could get off with this.

Ive got a bit of experience in this and know an excellent lawyer if you decide to fight it, call me if you like and ill tell you what i know.

if they do offer standard fine, take it.

                      I got snapped 87 in a 60 on the 29 sep 2013
                      court date 6 feb 2014!!
3 points and a fine were not on the menu.

                      Front plate has to go!!

Ask for photo id, it will be over the 14 days because its been to the dealership 1st and I presume they will have provided your details

Then I would probably take the points if its clearly you and you have a clean license
