So you are looking at a 997.1 then?

      I own a 997.2 GT3, but I am in Aus.

I know someone who has a (Viper Green) GT3 RS and in speaking to him, the key is (like the CSL) to retain the factory warranty at all costs, as they have all sorts of minor engine problems that due to the difficulty of getting to anything is engine out for things you wouldn't believe.

The main issue seems to be that they don't like to be stood for long periods of time, as this causes problems with the crank seal (which you can tell if it is an issue, because it drips oil on the garage floor). Apparently, despite the seal being peanuts, it is a several thousand pound job to have it replaced (and he has had to have it done either two or three times on his car).

Despite this, he absolutely raves about it and won't part with it.

+1 agree on the Full Porsche SH & Warranty....lots of talk on the net of engine rev range checks and the like.
