Help... I think I broke it. First crisis alert.

Wondering if you could offer some advice on what I should do...? It's only a guess at the exact cause but I managed to leave the handbrake on one click without triggering the light, felt a vibration after a mile or so and now have a knocking noise from the rear in 2nd and 1st. Jacked the car up and there's a lot of play somewhere in the drivetrain.

Was thinking of taking it straight to Bartletts tomorrow, I don't have a warranty so is that the best bet? Or should I go to Elms or Simpson even? It's due an oil service anyway and I haven't had any work done on it yet so was going to take it for an oil service and now this has happened.

You always get play at the back it stops the diff from breaking
the sound will be the handbrake lining it will have come off the metal part

Hmm are you sure? It's making many interesting noises coasting through 2nd and 1st to a stop, brakes on or off.

I reckon Mark is spot on. There's a bit of handbrake clanging around inside the drum.

Sounds as though the drive-shaft coupling might need replacing

Guibo splitting is very common, id guess half the CSLs have worn and split Guibo. Mine was.

Stripped both rear brakes down and didn't find anything apart from both rear suspension springs are broken, apparently that's standard fit for an M3 I'm told.

Recorded a couple more videos, I think I'd better take it somewhere that knows what they're doing

                  You took the discs off?

                  Are your discs cracked?

Yeah had a good look inside and at the discs, everything seems in order.
