Has that 39k one on PH sold? That seems very cheap now.Originally posted by Rchamps81 View Post
Think £45k with 70k on the clock is a little ambitious

It's getting to a stage where I'm going to draw a line under it and shell out the extra for a GT3 or F430. Too many speculators forcing supply for those who just want a fun daily car...

How is that any different to what's happened the GT3? The respective values of CSLs & GT3s are inextricably linked, so there's never going to be too big a gap between themOriginally posted by Rchamps81 View PostAgreed.

If you just want a fun daily, there are plenty of other cars out there which aren't as rare or in demand as the CSL

Because gt3's have bottomed out and people know what they're going to pay if they want to get one. CSL market seems to really have accelerated over the last months to the extent that peoplea dvertise cars, you then call them willing to pay what the car is listed for, only to find out the car is gone up £5k and five people are interested in a bidding war...Originally posted by LeinsCSL View PostHow is that any different to what's happened the GT3? If you want a GT3 you rock up with the cash and buy one. CSLs seem to be much more work.

But that wasn't the point you made and what prompted my reply. The issue you had was with a 70k mile car costing £45k, whereas for a bit more you could buy a GT3. All you have proven with your reply is that there is huge demand for CSLsOriginally posted by Rchamps81 View PostBecause gt3's have bottomed out and people know what they're going to pay if they want to get one. If you're getting the run-around from sellers then that's a different matter, and I would agree that it would be annoying

Ok, maybe a 430 is a stretch for a daily. GT3 and CSL would be ideal dailies for me (we have a 320d for family runs). But then again, I used to commute on a BMW S1000RR so practicality isn't a big thing for me! Like to experience these cars as much as possible, which means daily driving to me. :thumbs:Originally posted by Pooky View PostIf you want a fun daily car then don't buy a CSL, GT3 or F430.

You're right, apologies, I didn't get my point across as effectively as I could of. I was, or should of been, expressing concern with the difficulties in finding someone to sell me a car. You're def right that there is a huge demand for these cars. I just wonder whether this demand is from those who actually want a car to drive or an investment... Suppose it doesn't matter to sellers as they get too dollars for a great car.Originally posted by LeinsCSL View PostBut that wasn't the point you made and what prompted my reply. No probs , and I do take your point too. I think CSLs are definitely being marketed by the specialist dealers more towards investors than drivers now, as the blurb nearly always talks about the potential for growth in value. Such is the sad part of this current marketOriginally posted by Rchamps81 View PostYou're right, apologies, I didn't get my point across as effectively as I could of. Even the latest car mag Modern Classics is full of "investment opportunities" in their articles

I have to agree.
Nothing comes close to the csl in the same price bracket.....but this is quickly vanishing as the CSL marches ever closer toward GT3 values.
