I don't understand why owners didn't have them serviced to book. I looked at a 15k miler before buying mine, and whist it looked immaculate, it had only been serviced once after the running in service! Shame reallyOriginally posted by cslsuperfan View PostFrom experience a number of low mileage csl's up for sale have not maintained BMW servicing time constraints.

That's has become the accepted norm with low mileage examples, don't use it so why service it?Originally posted by MCSL View PostI don't understand why owners didn't have them serviced to book. If the read the handbook it tells you why, so you don't invalidate the warranty, seems a good enough reason to me.

Plus old oil just sitting in an engine is never good. Still degrades....Originally posted by Neil M View PostThat's has become the accepted norm with low mileage examples, don't use it so why service it?

Re the warranty, I've just bought a 30K mile example that has been stored for the last 4 years and hasn't turned a wheel. A full Insp II, new brakes etc are being done as a matter of course but I called Mondial and they said that they would honour an extended warranty provided that any faults are rectified before the warranty is taken out.
I guess they would say that to everybody but the lady I spoke to did have to go and check before telling me that, I would like it in writing from them though!
Do you guys have any opinions on which is the best option? Driveline, named component or comp?
