Thanks for the up-date Gorilla. That is very sad news. He built two of my favourite race cars. He and the 134 will be horribly missed. R.I.P.

Sad to hear of the loss ... died doing what he loved though

Hi,

It seems in these pics that the
Roll Cage has at least bent, and
there are reports that some
Tubes are broke or snapped
in the impact.

Car impounded by the Police,
Magistrate appointed, all
very Senna-esque, being
Italy the ''which'' hunt has begun.

Hi,

It seems that 500 BHP E46's is now
all the Rage.

The S65 would be my engine of
choice for the E46 but I expect
these are still very rapid.

Not sure about the 'cable ties' on the
Car from Norway though.

Hi,

And talking of S65 engines,seems
these guys had nothing better to
do.

Would really like to see some figures
for the results v the costs though.

Almost a direct injection set up,
which I am sure BMW considered
for the S65 but I would guess that
costs prohibited.

Hi,

For anybody interested here is a
Link to some really good pics of
the Merc 190 DTM Cars.

You arrive at Page 3 on the link,
need to click page 1, as the pics are
on Pages 1 and 2 of the link.

Evo II and Klasse 1 cars.

The AMG Klasse 1 cars made 400 BHP from a
2.5 Ltr Twin Cam 16v 4 pot.

They will rev to around 11,000 rpm.

Amazing Cars, more so in some regard than
the BMW E30 M3's as there were no
Merc Customer DTM 190's so the Cars and parts
just get harder to find.

Hi,

I mentioned the Merc 190 Klasse 1 of
Markus Westfuld had been upgraded
etc, earlier in the thread.

This is how it goes now.

Not bad for a little old 2.5ltr 16v twin cam 4 pot.

Its now around 400 BHP.

Hi,

Here is some rare footage as it
actually shows the Sonax 190 Klasse 1
in action in 1993.

This is what Markus Westefuld has
based his on.

The Grunt of the Klasse 1 engine is quite
remarkable for a 2.5 ltr.
