    Door protector strip coming away

A bit of a boring one but one that others may find useful!

A few weeks back my passenger side door trim protector strip started to separate away from the door. I removed it to see what the cause was and it was apparent that several of the plastic clips that hold it in place had broken.

So, i went to my local Stealers and bought 9 replacement clips at 36p each! The old ones simply prise off and new ones click into place. Press strip back into place working from forward end to rear - Simples!

    Trim removed

    Broken clip

    New clip in place

    Sorted!

Gratuitous pic whorage having cleaned both cars today in the sun :smokin:

Sort of mate - Navy Quarters...

I have left the strip on since the Ring last November. Haven't been out in the car much since though.

Yes mate - it's my daily runner:

After some research and careful consideration, i opted to go for an E36 328i Sport for my new daily driver rather than an E36 M3. There didn't seem much point buying another M3 when a CSL lurks in the garage...! Anyway, i was lucky enough to stumble over this gem on an ad in www.e36coupe.com and i arranged to view it today.

Ah right, don't look bad though!

Have you also filled the holes for the number plate surround? Hard to tell from the pics!

You need up to 9 of the 'clamp' (Part No.8250585) - Item 5 on this diagram:

Thansk for this Rob - ordered some clips in to do my passenger strip as it was coming away at the edge of the door. Turned out it was actually another problem whereby the black plastic was coming away from the strip which some Araldite fixed and replaced the clips anyway.
