You don’t need much of a break in underseal to get water in there , on these Uk salted roadways , something to do on a Friday afternoon,,

Only for the not to squeamish :banghead: ..Rear wheel arches, if you fancy taking a close look at your arches before they bite you in the arse... only looks like the slightest bit of paintwork/ underseal cracking, so fook it cut some back ,,, Could be worse  starts off pic1. clean it up, Treat it to some rust killer prep for zink paint primer :smokin: I can only imagine bmw are glad to see the back of th e46 m3 paint warranty.

Hi mike. to be honest,I wouldn’t even give bmw a bag of revels anymore to do any work on my car, had some warranty work done on the arches about a couple of years back. It just goes to show they don’t do it properly, and I’d wouldn’t have to do a diy job myself, but I’d put money on it it will last longer than there so called warranty repairs,

No sure if it will stay this shade of grey, but anybody that’s had a new boot floor won’t have original factory underseal finish anyway, but al least it’s covered now and looks tidy, get my new discs and back disc covers fitted won’t look to bad ,waxoil and refit bungs ,and a clear coat.. :smt055. If anybody knows original colour code for underseal, be better to do in in that,,,??? Original underseal colour in bottom pic..

Where to stop, may as we’ll carry on with colour scheme  lighter colour under arch protection doesn’t show. So not a problem for me . I think original colour is kinda olive green, if anybody can confirm ??

Chad, very nice work. Are you doing all this without a lift? I believe you are right about the colour of the factory protection.

Hi Julian, not got a lift but I’ve have these steps, next to garage I use to do the hard to get to stuff, only thing you have to turn car round to do front end :smokin: ..is there a code for the olive colour underseal finish ?? I’m thinking about dropping subframe and repainting, and all other bits and bobs , personally not into plastic coating things, as you can see what’s going on with paint, ok it’s not to everyone’s taste as far as original colour for the purists, and if I ever wanted to sell , but I’m happy with it ..

Ha ha.had to admit defeat,,, Wasn’t happy with my “paint can” wing spray job three attempts and about £100 in cans :banghead: could only score it 70percent , so give them to my paint suppliers to do. Will hopefully get them back tomorrow, as they are original wings just doing them for now,not blending them into doors see how this goes, didn’t want bmw paintwork altering.. Problem is even with paint code from car , seems to be a few shades of this , Car now off sorn all back together just waiting for wings fingers crossed
