Hi ,, has anybody ran solid akg subframe bushes, and spherical rtab, alongside shperical top inner arm bushes , iv already got eibach lower camber arms on ,they use spherical on the inner bush,, I would leave std diff bushes, And possibly run a bushed front wishbone bracket,, I’m very tempted to try it on the csl,, I’ve already got this setup on a subframe and arms ready to put on Trackday build project,, So tempting to try on csl. Anybody tried something similar, and how did you find it ????:smokin:

Yep, you get a far more pronounced "thunk" on gear-changes, but other thank that, no other additional NVH.
I know you said you weren't going to, but what-ever you do, do NOT change the diff bushes, as that is where you will get a pronounced whine.
Also the uprated engine and gearbox mounts will also transfer a load of NVH into the car.

Txt for input mike,, I’m thinking looking to get a more solid feel to the car, with the spherical bushing etc ,,just for a change in the cars feel ,and get everything real tight,,, then Mabe move on to some different suspension etc,, All my std bushes are fairly new so no issues there ,, I’ll definitely save diff ,gearbox and engine mounts for track build only :smokin:Originally posted by Mike R View PostYep, you get a far more pronounced "thunk" on gear-changes, but other thank that, no other additional NVH.

Interesting billy,, I was planning to go something very similar for Trackday project,, Definitely wouldn’t do solid engine ,diff or gearbox on csl . ,, Mabe I will have to invest in some good ear plugs :whistle:Originally posted by billyboysm3 View PostI ran solid AKG Diff, RTAB and subframe, engine and trans mounts

I'm not surprised, the solid diff, engine and trans mounts would have made it sound like a straight cut rally car :hahaha:.Originally posted by billyboysm3 View PostI ran solid AKG Diff, RTAB and subframe, engine and trans mounts

The RTABs and subframe bushes are fine being solid, the rest you need to wear noise cancelling head phones or ear plugs for every journey :bigcry:.

I wouldn't do it to the CSL.Originally posted by Chad View PostInteresting billy,, I was planning to go something very similar for Trackday project,, Definitely wouldn’t do solid engine ,diff or gearbox on csl . ,, Mabe I will have to invest in some good ear plugs
Trailered track car maybe but its bloody loud.
Your get a nice whine with RTAB and subframe.

thinking about spraying fire retardant/sound deadening expanding foam in cavity above rta pockets ,, possibly help with noise,, possibly subframe mount area, could helpOriginally posted by billyboysm3 View PostI wouldn't do it to the CSL.

Which is where mine are from . The reason I chose these as they are designed to avoid the bump steer that other types create by positioning the beam at the correct height.Originally posted by 0-60Motorsports View PostGO with Sold Subframe bushings along with a subframe reinforcement kit and keep OE Diff bushes and you will hardly feel any NVH. Best thing you can do for the subframe issue too.
These guys sell everything you will need:

Also, as above - no more NVH than standard.
I discussed this in depth with Obioban (Ian off the M3 Forum) as he has fitted every single different iteration of suspension component to his M3 over the years, so because of him, I knew in advance what would make a noise and what wouldn't. So just avoid up-rated engine and gearbox mounts and diff bushes and all will be golden

Now iv got this in my head. I’ll have to try it ,, as I’ve already got it all set up in a spare rear subframe, solid akg bushes. Some vac spherical top inner arm bushes set up , and two spare rear trailing arms with all new wheel bearings and new bushes with new front spherical bearings , now just have to wait for a dry day , :smokin:Originally posted by Mike R View PostWhich is where mine are from .
