    clutch stop?

    hey guys,

you've probably seen the online guide on how to make your own clutch stop. its really easy, but i had SUCH a hard time finding an 'elevator bolt.' well, i finally found a place that sells them, so i had to buy a couple more than i needed (couldn't just buy one).

im not trying to make money off this or anything, but i was wondering if anyone was interested in buying one of the extra sets off of me. im sellin it for $5 shipped. (cheap, considering online clutch stops are $20+).

anyways, email me if you have any questions! [email protected]

    thanks

Can you achieve smooth shifts with a clutch stop? I have always thought that a clutch stop would be great for racing when you don't care about being smooth, but around town, it seems like it would engage too quickly

the clutch stop allows me to shift just as smooth as before. It just eliminates the dead space at the end of the clutch. when you step on the clutch, theres a point where it engages, and then past that, is just dead space. with the clutch stop in place, your pedal only goes to the point where the clutch engages. so you get much quicker shifts. no reason why they would be less smooth. it is an adjustable kit, so you can adjust the level it stops at, depending on where your clutch pedal engages.

it is a very high quality kit. I did not make it and it is from components bought from a store (very hard to find parts). these elevator bolts are usually used in high stress industrial applications.

Lemme know if you want one! (email)

A clutch stop is just a "feel good" mod. It really does not help performance at all, but feels good to have. I am completely used to mine along with the short shifter. But at first they are really neat. Neither one probably did a thing for my performance, but both are cool to have. With the clutch stop, there is no more guessing where the engagement point is. It now engages just after letting the clutch go.

For $5 and 20 seconds to install, it is worth it.

yeah, of course it doesn't add hp or anything like that! but it's like the short shifter. you can shift faster and a bit easier. definitely a great mod for the price! i dont think it gets cheaper as far as mods go
