Some sort of sensor near fog light??

    '99 M3.

I ended up running over a torn up tire on the highway the other day and it pretty much broke apart the driver's side plastic shield in the front of the car, below where the fog light is located. Not the large center piece, but the small side piece.

I've pretty much put the shield back together as best as I could, but there's some sort of sensor or something hanging there by the wire that I'm not sure what to do with. The clip looks similar to the clip attached to the back of the fog light, but it's yellow instead. It's basically some sort of prong, almost looks like a thermometer or something.

Any ide what this is, and where it normally attaches to?

    Thanks...

i believe that is the external temp sensor. it should mount in that brake duct.

      Cool, thanks for the reply...

I know this is probably tough to explain, but can you clue me in on how it would mount? There doesn't seem to be anything in the duct to mount it to, unless something fell off in the incident...

Assuming you are talking about the one on the Driver side. Theres a hole on the side of the duct. It goes right in.
