I am new and really love bmw and am getting a 535is this summer before I go to the navy but when I get out I want a M3 not sure which year yet but I am kinda want an e36 b/c it isn't as exspensive and or peaky as an e30 or e46. I dislike not haveing the euro motors for the e36 over here. So I wanted to now b/c I love power and I have driven a wrx and love the turbo and I have driven a hand full of NA cars but I want to know which do you feel BMW would have done if they could have added more power. B/c I belive that the power should match the chassis. I will do mustly street driving and maybe some auto-x, but if I really want to race I would buy and e30 just for the racing.

If you really wanted to race you'd buy a toyota supra. If you want to do autocross, you'd buy an e36 M3. The M3 is faster than the WRX by far, especially after 60 mph. It seems that the WRX dies in the higher end, its wierd. Thats where the M3 kicks on full blast. If your looking for an all around great car, I'd hit up the new M3 if you got the cash. If you don't the e36 is an incredible car with lots of potential. Plan on buying a 95 M3 then throwing a supercharger on it and you'll outrun the supra's (that aren't souped up too much), and you'll outrun the e46 M3. -
I have read that they have early problems like water pumb impleler blades and the radiator neck. THey only have 3.0l and obd 1 right. I know toyotas are fast but to heavy for me and I like german/euro cars better(better feel and fun). I only got to rip it in the wrx to about 70. I know the e46 is just about the ultimate driving machine but is is to much money right now and insurace. What about a euro spec motor in an e36 w/ 6sp. You don't think the e30 is better handeling the the e36 in an auto x which modifed suspension. I have heard that stock the e36 is better but the e30 once you start changeing things it will kick just about every e36 givin about the same cash respectivly.Comment
