Not the USUAL M3 cold engine probs...but..?

    Hey all,

I know about the normal M3 roughness, idling, vibration problems when the car is cold.

But, over the past 3 days, my car started to feel like it was "missing" and stalled numerous times. If I touched the gas, the car would shutter and shake so badly you could see it moving from outside the car. The check engine light on the dash came on, but the onboard computer says Check Control OK.

Has this happened to anyone before? Any ideas what it could be (fuel starvation, injection problems, spark problems, etc.?) I had the second major service 15k miles ago, and nothing out of the ordinary has happened. I trust the gas station I get my gas from, so I don't think it's water in gastank either...

    Thanks...

I'm not sure about the E36, but I had an M50-powered E34 that did the exact same thing. It was a blown coil (#4, I believe), and $80 later it was fixed for good.
