Brake Light Circuit message on display

My m3 evo e36 display keeps showing,Brake Light Circuit see owners manuel,all brake light bulbs are working ok,any ideas,I dont have an owners manuel to check this out!

Need a new brake swtich. On the brake pedal, under the dash. $30 part. Small black box. With a red sleeve, and a white button sticking out.
