Check engine light on, then off

A couple days ago my CEL came on while driving. Today, after having the battery disconnected for about an hour while changing bulbs in my instrument cluster, the light no longer comes on.

Should I still be concerned about the CEL? Or should I not even bother worrying so long as the light doesn't return?

    Thanks.

I am not sure about this car, but some cars, when you disconnect the battery, it resets parts of the ECU, in turn the check engine light turns off. Drive for a while, if the CEL comes on again, you may want to get it checked out or find someone who can read the code for you. Or you can just drive around with it on.

Did you leave the gas cap loose by chance? That'll bring the CEL up. Usually it'll disappear by itself when you put it back on after awhile, and prob after you disconnect the batt....

Mine has come on 2-3 times as well but then is off for the most part. The mechanic that checked my electrical system said there's no record of the CEL even coming on. I don't think mine is related to the gas cap since I only fill up every other week or so (unless I have a defective gas cap with intermittent problems).

Well you could have a gas cap with a bad rubber o-ring/grommet thingy. The rubber seal around it I heard goes bad and it doesn't seal properly and the computer will pick it up.
