Man, this thing is sweet. I have the stock H/K system, and that lovely BMW head unit just wasn't cutting it. I was going to do more to the system, but the body shop is going to be taking my money instead.
Anyway, the head unit is nice. It makes a night/day difference with just the stock system. Granted, it's not like having a pair of 10s in the trunk, but just having the higher quality head unit is going to tide me over for awhile.
As far as the Ipod adapter, that thing is awesome. I had the installer run the cable into the glove box, so all I have to do is plug my Ipod in and forget about it. The head unit controls everything. Suddenly having 2400 songs at my disposal makes me want to take a road trip. Too bad winter approaches.
Anyway, I highly recommend the 9835 head unit, it rocks. I also strongly recommend the Ipod adapter if you have a compatible Alpine head unit and, well, a compatible Ipod. Anybody want to buy a factory 6 disc changer for the stock head unit, cheap. Ha!
