OK gang... Here it goes
Back gound on the car. I am the second owner. Car was purchased a year ago with 31K on it. Now it has 42K on it.
Now, I did take the car up to 130mph, and the next morning when I got in the car, the computer told me I was low on fluid. The car had lost about a cup of fluid. I put the fluid in.... drove about a week or so... Then I had a chance to bring the car up to 120mph. The next morning. Same thing... low one cup of coolant. So I put the coolant in, drove it to mechanic that works on german cars. He did a presure check on the radiator system and found no leaks....
About 2 weeks later I have a new water pump installed in order to replace the plastic pump. The original pump never gave me any problems, I just wanted it out of there, before it did.
Now about 2 months after the water pump swap.... I smell a whiff of coolant when I push the car a little... I am talking revs out to 4-7K. (The hearter is in "on" position) I smell the coolant while inside the car, and not while standing outside with hood open, reving the engine.
I have checked the dip-stick, no froth etc....
So what is the etiology, diagnosis and prognosis..... Please?
