Im in the process of buying my 99 M3, and Im going to have it inspected by my friend (who is head mechanic at Irvine BMW). But, I dont want to pay the fee to have it checked out at the dealership. So I was going to bring it to his house and we were going to look it over. The used dealer is making me leave a down payment and a license. So do you think they will ask me for the results on paper? Obviously I dont want them to know Im not going to bring it to the dealership so im wondering if they are going to make me show proof....

I dont want them to know Im not taking this to the BMW dealer. So my question is are they gunna ask me for the Results (if im buying the car)? and Could I get in any trouble for not taking the car to the dealership like I said.Comment

I guess it depends if you're going to use the results as a bargaining tool. If you do, be prepared to back up any claim of an issue(s) found during the pre-purchase inspection. I doubt they will ask for anything if you agree to pay what is showing on the sticker.Comment
