Steering wheel swap

Hey guys, I've got a 94 euro m3 with the standard steering wheel, fitted with airbag, and airbag light. Now the badge in the center of the wheel is all bubbled (dont know how) so I went down to the stealership and they gave me a shiny new badge, but when I tried to fit it, the old one refused to come out, and I tore a bit of the stuff holding the badge in. So I think now im gonna get a new wheel. Its off a 95 model, the one with just 3 spokes, airbag and little plastic clip on the bottom, which is chrome sometimes.



What is involved with this kind of swap, and will I need to have it done proffesionaly?



Or could I just swap the centre hub??



Any help would be appreciated.

I think oyu should just pick up an irbag with the badge on ebay and than go for it yourself.

If you do it yourself make sure you disconnect your battrery before you start because otherwise you will set your airbag light,or worse could set off the airbag.there is two screwes on the back of the airbag one on each side take them out disconnect airbag connection take it out that`s it, and than install new one it`s an easy thing to do.good luck

there are a few writeups out there, if you are doing E36 wheel swaps its easy, i did Z4 swap so its alot more complex but still feasible, same with E46, E46 and Z4 wheels are identical
