vertical play in steering wheel?

I noticed the other day if steering wheel is pointed dead center there is some vertical play in the column if you press it up. Not really a problem and does not show up when turning, just a little annoying after I discovered it and the car only has 49,000 miles. I suspect it's wear of the column. Anyone else have the same?

I don't have that probem, but its probably thoes plastic bushings they use for the column, the same ones that cause the common wheel squeek.
