I did the same thing, so here you go.

Take the front bumper off the car.

    Heres how:

Get under the car and disconenct all the splash shields and lower bumper supports. (Few screws here and there), but you'll need sockets to undo thoes if I recall correctly. Remove the brake ducts carefully and disconnect any sensors in them. (I left mine hanging) Theres also a couple screws inside the wheel arch area that holds the fender liner to the front bumper cover, undo thoes.

Then pop off the outer mouldings on the front bumper cover and there'll be four 14mm bolts. Undo thoes. Grab the bumper by the sides and slide it out and lean it on your body, disconnect the foglamps.

The slats are held on by small, round metal clips that slide onto plastic "polls". Thoes hold the slats in place. Pop thoes off and remove the slats and replace them with the mesh and put the retainers back on.

Reinstall bumper, slide back on and reconnect everything. When you put the spalsh shields, brake ducts and lower supports back on, its kind of like a small puzzle, which isn't hard to figure out, but theres some order to putting them back in, but I don't remember which. Not hard to figure out though.

Should look like this with the bumper off the car.
