starting problem

I'm having some problems starting my 99 m3. I bought the car from the auction (damaged) and took the motor and tranny out of the car right away cuz I did a complete paint job on the car. I painted the car put everything back together (almost everything) and tried starting the car but it doesn't click over. I'm thinking of a couple of things that maybe the problem



alarm ( I don't have the remote and not sure if it has an alarm at all)

gas tank is out so fuel pumps are not hooked up

got new keys made at the dealer ( gave the vin number)

headlights and all the wiring in the front isn't hooked up ( temp, fogs, etc.)



any help would be greatly appreciated

id say check all your connections, could be any number of things thou, its hard to say

Are you just trying to start the car to see if it turns over?



The lack of a gas tank and fuel pump will obviously prevent it from starting.



Also, the new keys are supposed to be initalized to the EWS system. You do this by putting the key in the ignition and turning it to position 2 (acc) for about 30 seconds.



If the EWS system is inactive, the car won't start either.
