    Solve a sticky throttle cable?

With this many horses on this light a vehicle, the slight stickiness I'm feeling in my gas pedal/throttle cable makes for a somewhat jerky ride. The design has the cable coming straight up from the firewall, doing a tight-radius 180-degree bend and back to the intake manifold. It seems to be a design that breeds a sticky cable.

Any good resolution short of replacing the cable?

    Thanks,

    John

try popping the bonnet and youll find the throttle cable just behind the intake manifold. Tighten up the slack with the adjuster (you need small hands to get in there) and then spray the cable and the throttle mechanism with some penetrating lube (and penetrating lube does NOT mean WD-40 :P ). Then try to stick the nozzle down inside the cable housing and squirt some in there, go inside you car, operate the throttle a few times then repeat. That might work.
