As was mentioned there is 1 in the tool kit, though having 2 makes it easier to line up the wheel. I bought mine off of someone who ran a batch on BF.C and they are machined aluminum with a bullet nose and are threaded on the opposite end. I searched just now but couldn't find the thread...I will try again later today to find it.

They should be replaced every two years so that is one reason you might not want to buy them.

I have them though and they are wonderful for switch wheels quickly and easily.

Really sorry to bump an old thread. I just picked up an e36 sedan and would like to do the conversion. My goal is to run a 17x9 square setup in the future (mid 2013) but use my stock contours for the time being. What size stud kit should I be looking for that will work with most wheel sizes? Also, are their any new options people are using out there? I found some blox kits but it was just eh.

Any size would work, it simply depends on if you are planning to run spacers or not. If you want to be safe i would get 90mm in case you are going to be running spacers larger than 12 mm. If not then i would get the 75 mm ones since they allow spacers up to 12mm

I just ordered the apex stud kit with their cyper monday deal and they look to be great quality.

I'm a big fan of the Motorsport Hardware stud conversion kits... I should be replacing my Vorshlag studs with these over the summer. If you have any questions, give them an email.

I bought the APEX kit for my E36 M3 and am happy with it.

I also bought a pin from Bavarian Autosports bavauto.com - PN: 12MM - that I use for the other BMWs when rotating or changing to/from winter tires.
