    Question on 1/4's

    Hello all,

I know a lot of you probably don't care, but assuming someone with a US E36 M3 from '96-'99 was driving (and drove well), what kind of 1/4 mile times could they expect?

I'm still getting my launches down and everything, but I want to know what the status quo is. So far I've just got Shark Injector software and Borla exhaust, with a CAI on the way.

    Peace out.

(edit: I've done a search on 1/4 times, but I'm not sure how many of the responses are US models vs. Euro models)

i've seen numbers posted anywhere from 15 seconds to sub 14 seconds..... the norm i believe is around mid to low 14 second passes with minimal mods..... i had intake, exhaust, chip, & shifter when i went to the dragstrip and i ran a 14.44 @ 97.18 mph. a really good driver should be able to pass with high 13's. i need to work on my launching (get better tires also) and i believe i should be able to hit high 13's.....

Cool, thanks for the info. Sirius. I need to work on my launches and learn my car. I was only able to get a 15 flat with a GTec (not the best measure, I know), but I was having trouble hooking up and I'm still getting used to shifting.

Damn.... I really **** at driving an M then. I'm thinking I just need to get my launches down, I keep bogging just a bit whenever I make a run.

the launches are key... minimal wheelspin and no boggin and ull be fine.. but this obviously isn't really a drag car.. thats why i only got a couple numbers down and that was my best out of one session

My best was a 14.25 with my old 95 M3, it had an AA chip, CAI, 12lb hood, synthetic everything. I always struggled with the launches too.
