    Battery Removal

First time removing the battery and I got as far as dicsonnecting the old one b/4 it started to pour: don't have a garage. My questions concerns the "battery retaining clamp" which I assume is the long screw (?) near the negative terminal with what looked like a stell "clamp" down at the bottom. I didn't get a chance b/c of the rain, but first, is that the clamp, and second, is a Phillips screwdriver used to unscrew it? Anything else I need to know?

Also, do I have to reset anything after I connect the new battery. The manual does not address this. Looks like it's going to rain into t'row, so the install will have to wait. Thx.

The retaining clamp is held on by that long screw. You can use a phillips screwdriver or a socket to remove it. Once you disconnect the battery and install the new one, you'll lose your milage reading on the trip odometer, your raido settings may need to be reset and the clock will need to be reset.

If you haven't already, I would unplug the plastic vent tube at the forward end of the battery and gently push it to one side.

Don't forget to reconnect it when you are done!
