I know I am digging this up from the dead but I figured this was better than starting a new thread.

I'm also hoping someone can enlighten us about this mysterious DIY that's an alleged miracle cure for my periodic and random key spinning problem.

        Thanks.

          Greetings.

I'm new to this board and have had this spinning lock problem myself. I've read a lot of material about the problem and am convinced there's nothing wrong with my car and hopefully yours either.

The lock is designed to spin if the wrong key is inserted but sometimes it will spin if the steering wheel is turned hard over when parked and resting on the internal lock in the column. Turn the wheel slightly until there is slack against the lock and the key cylinder should turn normally.

          Good luck,

          Brian
