    New Member, New M3

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading this forum for a while. I recently purchased a 1999 cosmos M3 with 60,000 miles. Right now its bone-stock, but I'm thinking of going to the first Dinan S-package this spring once all the snow is gone. As far as aesthetics, I like the stock look so the only thing I'm considering is clear turn and tails, although I can't decide because on black the ambers look decent. I also want to debadge but haven't had the heart as of yet.

Let me know what you all think, and thanks for keeping such a great forum going.

    Welcome to M3F.

    Cosmos Black > All

Look around hard before you drop cash on Dinan gear. Tons of very very good options out there.

That being said I would not mind running a Dinan S/C. I would run something else but for me CARB legal is a must and IIRC Dinan is the only player in town with this cert. Maybe someone will say I am wrong. I hope they do! :P

I also like the amber signals on Cosmos.

        Welcome to the forum

+1 for amber on cosmos. Welcome to the forum, nice ride! (whatever engine/software mods you do, make sure to rip out the factory airbox ).

+1 for amber on cosmos. Just looks cheap on the clears unless they are smoked. Then it is a tossup.

I would rather dump the extra $400 on clears into nicer wheels...upgrade from BBS to Fikse or such.

              Thanks for the comments guys

I actually really like the stock m3 wheels. They have that classic look, reminds me of the 928 wheels. I think I will keep the ambers, and use the money for performance mods. The one thing I don't like about the M is the shifter, I had a b&m ssk in my audi and I need to throw one into the M3 because the throws are way too long. otherwise I absolutely love it, the performance is just amazing

                Welcome

I agree, the shifter is a weak point in the car.

I had never driven an M3 w/ SSK until last week (drove Ty's ride) and I went through withdrawl after getting back into mine.

welcome to the addiction that is - M.

Dinan is a good tuner, but there are other good if not better alternatives for performance parts. take your time and do the homework - and you will have a blast w/ the M3.
