When I go around a corner, my engine starts making a horibble noise (rubbing). It last for a while, then subsides. It seems to be getting worse. Does anyone have any ideas how to troubleshoot this? I honestly haven't started checking belts, or anything. I have just been listening, from inside. Its pretty bad now.

Are you sure it’s the engine?
Do you feel anything in you steering wheel?
Maybe your power steering fluid is under level. Your steering pump makes a nasty sound when the level is to low.
What do you mean by a rubbing sound? Is your car lowered and is it possible that the wheels hitting the inside off the front panels?
Does it make the sound when you turn the wheel whilst standing still??

It was my steering fluid. It was very low. I put some DOT4 brake fluid in (I hope that will work!), and gave it a little test. No more problem.
Just to answer you questions:
I first noticed it going around corners under power. The noise would linger for a while and then go away. It didn't start making an appearance while going straight until the last time I drove it. At first I did think it was maybe the tires rubbing, because it only occured when I was in a corner. Once it started happening more often I abandoned that idea, and got kind of worried (yes I have only had an M3 for a few months, and I don't know it very well yet). The sound it made was almost a grinding, but not a full blown nashing, more of a whiring. Anyhow. I very much appreciate the advice. It great to be able to drive again
